Reviews

Bottled poetry is the description of Trione Chardonnay. Burgundian in style of both nose and palate. Rich and inviting, this wine offers a complex mix of toasty baguette, warm melted brie; silky but with the structure demonstrating the aging potential. The wine is tasting great now but will be awesome for the next 5-7 years.

The Estate

Three generations, four decades, five ranches — our family is deeply rooted in the Sonoma County wine industry. Dedicated farmers for forty years, brothers Mark and Vic Trione own and cultivate close to 600 vineyard acres in three prime Sonoma County appellations: Russian River Valley, Alexander Valley and Sonoma Coast.

Wine Making

River Road Ranch is a 115-acre jewel in the heart of the Russian River Valley AVA. Chardonnay vines thrive in well-drained soils, shrouded with fog cooled nights, ideal growing conditions.

Food Suggestions

Pairs well with pork, rich fish such as salmon and tuna, vegetarian and poultry dishes.

James Suckling – 92

"A full-bodied white with aromas and flavors of apricots, dried mangoes, toasted hazelnuts, flint and saline notes. Buttery with an underlying smokiness, balanced by elegant acidity. Drink or hold."

Wine & Spirits – 91

"“I taste grilled lobster shell,” said Michael Kowalski of Berkshire Mountain Distillery. And this wine’s richness would be delicious with grilled shellfish. It’s buttery and round, integrating some oak phenolics while still finishing clean."

Wine Spectator – 90

"Peach cobbler and apple pastry flavors are loaded with hazelnut and toffee accents in this plush-textured version. The buttery and well-spiced finish is luscious and creamy."
