Loire Sancerre France Europe
Tasting Notes
Technical Details
Attributes

This wine pours to a pale yellow with grey undertones, offering a subtle first impression on the nose. Once aerated this wine opens up to reveal aromas of mandarin, honeysuckle and aniseed. The nose is an expressive bouquet. An initial impression of varied aromas infused with notes of boxwood, broom and rhubarb, developing nuances of dried fruits, almonds and pistachios. The palate reveals itself to be soft and unctuous with a lively finish. Lingering aromas of orange peel and white chocolate.

Sauvignon Blanc grape blend.
This wine contains allergens, sulfites.
The Estate

The vineyards here surround the eponymous town, which sits atop a bean-shaped hill overlooking the river Loire. It is only since the mid-20th Century, and the creation of a protected Sancerre appellation, that “Sancerre” has been so strongly associated with white wines.

Wine Making

In the CROCHET family, we have cultivated the hills of Bué since the 16th century. We are born and we die as winegrowers. Jean-Marc joined his father in 1980, then Mathieu followed in 2007.
Together, they bring care and attention to their work in the vines. It is with passion, that they will welcome you into their tasting room, and invite you to discover their wines.

Food Suggestions

Pairs well with pork, shellfish, spicy foods, vegetarian dishes, and goat cheese.
